Hawkins v. McGee

George Hawkins had a small, pencil-thin scar across his hand. Dr. Edward McGee promised Hawkins a "one hundred percent good hand."

Unfortunately, The doctor attempted to repair the scar by grafting skin from Hawkins' chest. The skin grew hair, so McGee ended up with a hairy hand (and so the case is generally known as the case of the hairy hand). The doctor has performed the operation poorly, and George also ended up with an ugly hand.

The doctor breached his promise. The question before the court is how much money Hawkins should receive in compensation.
